The Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu II has cautioned Lagosians not to put on shoes and ladies not to wear head ties on Saturday as the state has Eyo Festival.

While talking at a question and answer session at the Ilupesi Square in Lagos Island on Thursday, the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu II, cautioned Lagosians not to put on shoes and ladies not to wear head ties on Saturday as the state has Eyo Festival.

The compelling ruler made the statement as he advises the occupants and guests about the approaching Lagos@50 Eyo Festival booked to hang on Saturday, May 20, 2017.

The Oba who was spoken to by the Olumegbon of Lagos, Chief Fatai Lawal, sketched out the rules and regulations of the celebration, and asked everybody not to wear any shoes inside the region of the masquerades, including that female must not wear any type of go to the occasion.

He said the Eyo Festival was being held as a feature of the Lagos@50 festivities to respect celebrated children of Lagos including His Royal Highness, the Late Elegushi of Ikate, Oba Yekinni Elegushi (Kusenla II) and the expired Co-Chairman, Lagos@50 Committee, Mr. Rasheed Gbadamosi.

Oba Akiolu guaranteed occupants and guests that sufficient security had been orchestrated a fruitful celebration and educated people in general that the parade would take off at the Iga Iduganran to finish at the Tafawa Balewa Square where the different Eyo gatherings would be on parade.

The Oba of Lagos said that the Eyo Festival would support tourism as individuals are normal from everywhere throughout the world to witness the celebration which holds just on critical events.

He guaranteed people in general that free transportation would be given to the scene from every one of the divisions of the State.
